Here is a list of upcoming events, activities, and other important information at Shawnee High School:

 

1) School Closed: The school will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21st for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

 

2) The Sophomore Cotillion: The Sophomore Cotillion will take place on Friday, Jan. 25th. Tickets are sold during lunch and learn – please see Mr. Casey or Mrs. Holcombe for more information.

 

3) Bandana Day DECA and FCCLA will be hosting a “Bandana Day” on Thursday, January 24th in support of the Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation. An organization that helps provide items for teens that are hospitalized. We will be selling bandanas for $3 each and all of the money goes to charity.

 

4) 8th Grade Open House: Attention parents of all 8th graders living in Medford and Medford Lakes: Shawnee High School will be hosting its annual 8th Grade Open House on Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. The program will start with opening remarks in the High School Auditorium. Students are encouraged to attend along with their parents. Please be mindful that parking and traffic around the high school will be an issue, so you are encouraged to carpool and arrive early. Looking forward to seeing you on the 16th! 5) Movie Night & Character Breakfast The All-School Musical is hosting a Movie Night on February 1st in the LGI as well as a Character Breakfast on February 2nd. More information will be coming.

 

6) Designer Bag Bingo The Softball and Girls Basketball teams are hosting a Designer Bag Bingo Night on February 1st in the Cafeteria. The event begins at 7pm.

 

7) Volunteer Service Award: The Lenape Regional High School District is proud to choose one student from each of its schools to receive its Volunteer Service Award. This award recognizes the valuable contributions students are making in our communities. It is by their demonstrated commitment and example they inspire others to make service a central part of their lives. Nominations can be made by any LRHSD employee or community member; self-nominations will also be considered. Once the form is submitted, nominees will receive an email detailing their application responsibilities. An independent committee will review all applications and select a recipient. The award recipient will be recognized at our district’s May Board of Education Meeting and at their respective school’s Academic Awards Ceremony.

 

8) Yearbook Information: Attention All Parents, it’s time to order a Yearbook! In addition, we want to provide you with some other options to help personalize your student’s yearbook.

 

To order a 2019 Shawnee Yearbook: Yearbooks are on sale now and can be ordered directly from Jostens, our yearbook provider, at www.jostensyearbooks.com Please note that we do not accept any yearbook orders at school. Be aware that we do not order extra yearbooks to sell in June. If there are yearbooks left, they will be priced at $100. The only way to guarantee a 2018 Shawnee yearbook is available for your student is to pre-order it through Jostens. Personalize your yearbook with names and icons. The last chance to personalize your student’s yearbook is February 22, 2019. Personalization and icon samples, as well as payment options, can found at www.jostensyearbooks.com

 

Attention: Parents of Shawnee Seniors! The last day to order a Senior Recognition Ad is January 16, 2019. To order a Senior Recognition Ad: A Senior Recognition Ad is a personal message from you to your graduate which appears in a special section of the yearbook. It is an opportunity to include a favorite picture and some thoughts on the past or the future. All Senior Recognition Ads must be placed directly through Jostens where you have the ability to personalize your photo layouts and messages right online. Jostens’ representatives are available if you need help creating an Ad. Shawnee pricing, ad sizes and payment options are available on the Jostens’ website. For more information or to place an order for your Shawnee graduate, please go to www.jostens.com/yearbookads >. The last day to order a Senior Recognition Ad is January 16, 2019.
