If you’re taking a business course this year, you might have Mrs. Watson, a new teacher for the 2016-2017 school year.  I myself am in one of her classes, Intro to Business, so I knew it would be interesting to ask her some questions and get to know her better.

Teaching is not Mrs. Watson’s first career; she had been an accountant for many years prior. Mrs. Watson graduated from Montclair State University, where she majored in Business Administration. The reason Mrs. Watson became a teacher? She decided to share her experiences in the business world with high school students. She hasn’t regretted her decision because the students and staff alike here at Shawnee have been very welcoming.

Mrs. Watson has been married for 25 years to her husband. Once a teacher here at Shawnee, he currently teaches at Seneca. They have three children, two who are college-age and one who is a high school senior.

Mrs. Watson currently teaches Intro to Business, Sales and Marketing, Personal Finance, and Study Skills and Career Awareness. She is also involved with DECA, German Club, and the district Job Fair committee. I think I can speak for all her students when I say she is very enthusiastic about her job. We are happy to have you here at Shawnee, Mrs. Watson!
