Nia Scott scores her 1,000 point as the Renegades roll past Seneca

The Lady Renegades had a Senior Night to remember as Nia Scott (#55) scored her 1,000th career point in a victory against sister school Seneca (3-9). The 57-16 win brings the Renegades’ record to an impressive 13-2. The girls started strong with back-to-back 3-pointers from Kessler (#3) and Miller (#21), and the already loud crowd–packed in both the student and parent sections–responded with enthusiasm.  Even without her grand milestone, Nia Scott had an excellent night, scoring 17 points and pulling down 10 boards. Kessler, with 10 steals to go along with her 15 points, showed that the Lady Renegades were not just here to score buckets; they can play defense as well as anyone. Miller added 13 points, 9 of which came from beyond the arc. By halftime, Shawnee was up 26-7, which proved to be an insurmountable lead. Coach McGovern’s Lady Renegades will look to make it three in a row this Saturday (1/21 @2pm) at home against Manasquan.
